There are different types of chip
conveyors for different applications.
Scraper Type Chip Conveyors
- These conveyors are mainly used for smaller chips. Especially for
cast iron chips.
- Scrapers are tied between the chains that are running on the
sprockets mounted on shafts. These scrapers carry the chips to the
chip bin.

Slat Type Chip Conveyors
- These conveyors are mainly used for long curly chips. Ideal for
steel chips.
- It's also called cleat type conveyors. It's nothing but a hinged
belt attached with the chain.
- It carries chips on it's surface to avoid any entangling of
chips with the conveyor.

Magnetic Chip Conveyors
- These conveyors are mainly used for the small wet ferrous chips.
- This helps in recovering the costly fluids that are used for
machining.
- The chips fall on the stainless steel that is stand still.
Conveyor is running below the stainless steel sheet. Magnets are
connected to the chain.
- Chips stick to the magnets & carried to the chip bin. Fluid
is recovered back to the tank.
