Roll coolant system is used for filtration of roll
coolant that used during cold rolling of the material. The coolant helps in
removing the heat generated during rolling as well as provides lubrication.
It is totally automatic system with pressure & temperature control. Both
the parameters are very important in cold Rolling of material.
It is a combination of different equipments. Combination depends on -

Centralized filtration system is a
common system for batch of machines that are used for
- Machining of same material like Aluminum, Cast iron, Forged Steel
etc.
- Use of same fluid on all the machines
- Same pressure of coolant on all the machines. For through tool
coolant booster pumps are used in line with the fluid coming from
centralized system.

Centralized System is a combination of
different equipments as per the application. It depends on
- The type of material machined.
- Type of machining done.
- Type of fluid used as coolant.
- Filtration level required.

Advantages of Centralized
System over Individual systems:
- It saves space in the machine shop.
- Being filtration system outside the machine shop, the sludge
handling is outside resulting in cleanliness in the machine shop.
- No leakages in the machine shop.
- Coolant management is easy.
- Coolant preparation & topping up is only at one point.
- All the machines are fed with same concentration & pressure
of coolant that results in better machining results.
- Maintenance of the system is only at one point that automatically
reduces the manpower.
- Number of spares & variety of spares are reduced.
- Life of coolant is very high (Up to one year) because of high
volume of coolant is exposed to air that reduces the rate of
bacteria growth.
- Proper filtration of coolant that improves quality of the
machining and life of tools.
- Payback of filtration systems is calculated on the basis of the
saving on spares, man power, consumption of tools, extended life of
coolant.
- Coolant to individual machine could be switched on & off with
the help of electro-pneumatically operated valves. These valves are
interlocked with machine cycles.
- Totally automatic system. Need not be manned continuously.
